My name is Amy Otto and I am the Guidance Counselor at Port Orange Elementary. I am from a small town in Ottawa, Ohio where I also attended college. I graduated with my B.A. in Mental Health Counseling and my M.A. in Counseling Education. After graduation I moved to Port Orange Fl. Previously I have been the guidance counselor at Campbell Middle, Sweetwater Elementary and this will be my first year at Port Orange Elementary. Go Tigers!
Being a school counselor is my passion and everyday I feel thankful to have the opportunity to work with your children! Although there are a multitude of things that I want to accomplish through my school counselor program, there are a few that I feel are critical. One of my first priorities has been to build a solid foundation for my school counseling program by working closely with other faculty, parents, and the community. My work with students here at Port Orange Elementary is also a key component. My role is to work with students to help them achieve their full potential in the areas of personal, academic, and social development. The knowledge gained in these areas at the elementary level creates a groundwork for future success. I work with students by classroom guidance lessons (character education lessons), small groups (special topics: grief, divorce, social skills, etc.), and students may also see me individually.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call or email me. Currently I can be reached by phone at 386-322-6271ex. 34197, or by email at [email protected]. If you choose to email me, please leave times you will be available for me to call you back in the near future.
Sincerly,
Ms. Otto
